Muleriders Win in Extra Innings

The SAU baseball team won 5-2 in 11 innings in a non-conference game Tuesday at Ouachita Baptist University. Landon Simpson pitched 5 innings in relief, and picked up the win. Planning Commission Meets

The Magnolia Planning Commission approved one request and tabled another at their meeting Monday. The commission approved a variance to allow a mobile home in an I-2 zone at 608 Peace Street. Magnolia PD Makes Arrests

Magnolia Police report three arrests in connection with an armed robbery Christmas Eve at Hibbett Sports. 22 year old Phil Johnson Jr. of McNeil was arrested December 31st; 19 year old Coasia Stewart of Garland City was arrested February 24th; and 18 year old Keon Davis of Waldo was arrested Friday. Lady Muleriders To Play Wednesday

The SAU women’s basketball team has a game at home Wednesday against Philander Smith College. The Lady Muleriders beat Philander Smith by 4 on November 14th in Little Rock. Wednesday’s game tips off at 5:30 p.m. at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center. The game will be broadcast live on Magnolia’s Country 99.1.  

Muleriders Win Big in Home Opener

The SAU men’s basketball team beat Williams Baptist College 94 to 68 Monday night in Magnolia. Jaron’ Davis led the Muleriders with 20 points and 13 rebounds. The Magnolia Police Department is investigating a shooting in the early morning hours Monday that left one person wounded. According to Detective Colton Burks, the incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on East McNeil Street. Burks said the shooting did not occur at any particular residence, but was in the street.
