Magnolia Town Hall Meeting

Magnolia Mayor Parnell Vann has scheduled a second town hall meeting regarding the aquatic center, and baseball and softball complex he is proposing. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council chambers, on Pine Street behind the police station.  Everyone is invited.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert about a new scam call. They say the call comes from 855-561-6291, and the person claims to be a representative of Sherman Legal Services, supposedly contracted by BancorpSouth. Much of Lake Columbia Park to Close After 10 p.m.

The Columbia County Rural Development Authority voted Monday to close the picnic area and swimming area at Lake Columbia after 10 p.m. That area of the park will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as soon as signs can be posted. The Magnolia Police Department reports the arrest September 20th of 30 year old Roshunda Lewis of Magnolia. She was charged with residential burglary, criminal mischief first degree, and criminal trespass. Lewis is reported to have entered a home in which she had been previously told not to return to.
