Six games were played Thursday on the first day of the Magnolia High School Spring Break Baseball Tournament. The Magnolia Panthers beat Walnut Ridge 15-2 in their first-round game. Columbia County producers will have the opportunity to dispose of their outdated and unused pesticides during a collection event this Friday (March 24th.) Lady Panther Softball

The Magnolia High School softball team went 2 and 1 in the Debra McMasters Tournament in Hope. Their loss was 1-0 to Hector. They edged Bismark 7-6, and they beat Ouachita 8-1 in the consolation game. The Lady Panthers play at home Saturday against Taylor and Genoa Central.

The SAU baseball and softball teams both had sweeps of Great American Conference series with Southwestern Oklahoma State. The Lady Muleriders won 8-1 and 5-4 Friday in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
