SAU’s Quincy Flowers has been named the Great American Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Flowers notched NCAA DII provisional qualifying times in both the 100 and 200 meter events at a meet at Stephen F. Austin. Flowers has registered a combined eight Top 5 finishes in the 100 and 200 meter events this spring.
Brandy Browning was recently chosen as the Magnolia Junior High School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Browning teaches Physical Science, Pre-AP Physical Science, and Pre-AP Biology at the junior high school. The winner of the 7th Annual Pork Chop Cook Off was Smoke and Heads, Mark and Mandy Headrick of Magnolia. The Pork Chop Cook Off was part of the 10th Annual Festival on the Rails Saturday in McNeil.
