From Magnolia City Hall:
The Magnolia Water Utilities will start the annual distribution system flushing program beginning April 14th. The purpose of this program is to maintain the best water quality as possible and also check the operations of our fire hydrants.
We will be flushing the distribution mains systematically throughout the evening hours and will try to complete as much of the system as possible before water demand increases.
Customers are asked to keep their water usage down to a minimum during the period that your section is being flushed to reduce pulling discolored water into your household plumbing.
Below are some tips on how you can address discolored water:
If just the cold water is discolored, try flushing your toilet and running cold water through your bathtub until it clears.
If just the hot water is discolored, we recommend flushing your hot water tank. This will have to be done by the customer.
