Some of the customers of the Emerson Waterworks are under a boil order until further notice. The boil order area begins north of County Road 210 on Highway 79 North, and includes all Emerson customers in the Brister area, County Road 8, County Road 48, and County Road 407. The boil order was issued as a precautionary measure because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of the partial loss in normal system pressure, due to a water main break at a flooded creek crossing.
Under the “Boil Water” order, all affected customers are advised that water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
