Panthers & Lady Panthers Winners

Magnolia High School baseball and softball were both winners Thursday at home against Hot Springs Lakeside.
The Lady Panthers won 11-4. Alex Whaley had 4 hits. Karlee Strickland and Jacii Powell also had multiple hits. Whaley, Brittany Yates, and Bailey Ladner each had 2 RBIs. Grace Basinger was the winning pitcher; she pitched 6 innings in relief and gave up no runs.
The Panther baseball team defeated the Lakeside Rams 4-2. The win keeps Magnolia undefeated on the season with an overall record of 8 and 0, and 4 and 0 in conference. Lakeside falls to 3 and 1 in conference, 6 and 4 overall. Payton Campbell led the Panthers at the plate with 3 hits. Matt Goodheart added 2 hits. Goodheart was also the winning pitcher to improve his record to 3 and 0. Parker Ribble pitched a scoreless 7th inning to record his first save.
The next action for the Panthers will be next Thursday in the their annual Spring Break Tournament. Magnolia will take on Walnut Ridge at 6:00 pm next Thursday. Play in the tournament will begin Thursday morning with 6 games starting at 9 a.m.
