Emergency Drill Scheduled For Monday Morning in Magnolia

The Columbia County Office of Emergency Management will have their annual drill Monday around Central Elementary School. Students will not be in school Monday, but teachers will be having professional development, and some of the teachers will participate in the drill. The drill will be coordinated around a simulated event. The event will be made to look and sound real, but it will only be a drill. Streets around Central Elementary School will be closed during the drill, starting at about 8:30 a.m. This will include McNeil, East North, Academy, and the south ends of Buffington and Jeanette. Agencies participating in the drill include: OEM, Magnolia PD, Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, SAU Police, the Arkansas State Police, Magnolia Fire Department, Columbia County Ambulance Service, Magnolia Regional Medical Center, and Magnolia Public Schools. Again, the drill will be made to look like a real emergency, but it will not be an actual emergency, only a drill. The drill is scheduled to start around 8:30 Monday morning at Central Elementary School, and it will extend to the hospital.
