Magnolia HS Golf Teams Going to State

The Magnolia High School Golf Teams have both qualified for the 5A State Golf Tournament. The 5A South District Golf Tournament was Wednesday in Hope, and the top three finishers in each division qualify for the State Tournament. The Lady Panthers finished second Wednesday, and the Panthers finished third in the boys’ division.

The Lady Panthers shot a team score of 290, 8 shots behind team champion Hope. Katie Collier led the Lady Panthers with a 91. She was named to the girls All-Conference team.  Mara Beth Moore finished with a 98; Samantha Gregory shot a 101; and Anna Grace Moore shot a 108.

Hot Springs Lakeside won the boys division and White Hall was second. The Panthers shot 333 to finish third.  The Panthers’ Evan Lindsey shot a 71, which tied him for first place in the boys’ division. He lost medalist honors in a playoff.  Lindsey was named All-Conference.  Connor Harrington was next for the Panthers with an 85; Dylan Carlton shot 87; Stephen Liberty came in with a 90; and Bryce Braswell shot a 92.

The Lady Panthers will participate next week in the Girls 5A State Tournament in Hot Springs, while the Boys play in their 5A State Tournament on October 5th in Jonesboro.
