SAU Family Day & Other Sports

Saturday is Family Day at Southern Arkansas University. The Residence Hall Association Bed Races and the Great Greek Canoe Races are moving to new venues this year. The Bed Races will be at 2:30 in front of the Science Center, and the Canoe Races take place at 3:30 in the old Armory pond. Other events Saturday include:

An Organization Fair from noon until 2:00 on the lawn of the Business Building,

A Family Reception at 2:00 inside the Engineering facility (the old Armory,)

An Open House of the new Athletic Training Facility at 3:30 near the gym,

Mulegating and a Free Family Picnic beginning at 4:00 north of Wilkins Stadium,

Including a Pep Rally at 5:00.

And the football game kicks off at 6:00 on Rip Powell Field in Wilkins Stadium. The Muleriders host the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State. The game will be broadcast live on Magnolia’s Country 99.1, online at MagnoliaRadio.com, on the Magnolia Radio app, and on five other radio stations on the Mulerider Sports Network. The broadcast begins at 5:15.

 

SAU’s Doug Palmer is the Great American Conference Men’s Runner of the Week. Palmer paced the Muleriders last week in Memphis. He finished third individually and helped the Muleriders finish third among eight Division-2 teams. The SAU Cross Country teams compete this Saturday at UCA.

 

The SAU volleyball team is competing Friday and Saturday at an Invitational in Arkadelphia.
