The Magnolia Baseball Panthers defeated Watson Chapel 1-0 Tuesday in Magnolia. Parker Ribble doubled in the fourth inning and came around to score on a Thomas Prince single. That’s all the scoring Magnolia needed as Jay French pitched a 3-hit shutout. The Panthers are now one game behind Watson Chapel, White Hall and Lakeside for the 5A South Conference lead. Magnolia is 5 and 2 in the conference, and 13 and 3 overall. The Panthers play a makeup non-conference game Thursday at Taylor. Then they host De Queen in conference action Friday. Both games start at 4:30.
