SAU Baseball Team Won Series At Harding

The SAU baseball team came away with a 5-3 win Monday afternoon at Harding University in Searcy. With Monday’s win, the Muleriders won the series, 2 games to 1. SAU jumped out to the early lead Monday with 3 runs in the second inning. Billy Germaine made it 4-0 with a solo home run in the third. Harding chipped away at the lead with single runs in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings. But the Muleriders got their lead back to 2 with an insurance run in the 6th inning, and that would be the final score of the game. Landon Simpson pitched 8 innings to pick up the win. Jared Fielden pitched a scoreless 9th for his 5th save. The Muleriders are now 13 and 8 in the Great American Conference, 22 and 12 overall. Their next action is Friday and Saturday as they host Arkansas Tech in a GAC series.
