A change has been made to the schedule of SAU’s conference baseball series this week at Harding. Searcy has received a large amount of rain and they are going to give the field an extra day to dry. The series will now start with a doubleheader at noon Saturday, and they will play a single game at 1:00 Sunday. SAU softball and track also face Harding this week.
The SAU track and field teams will compete in a dual meet Saturday in Searcy. Field events begin at 11 and running events at 1.
The softball series will be played at SAU, with doubleheaders at 2 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be a field-naming ceremony at 1:30 Friday; the softball field will officially become Dawson Field. Members of the Dawson Family donated the lights at both softball fields in honor of their late father, Bill Dawson Sr., and their late sister, Melissa Dawson. Bill Sr. spent part of his coaching career at Magnolia High School, and Billy and Charlie Dawson received All-America honorable mention playing baseball at SAU.
