May 22 Wednesday
Diabetes Support Group meeting: a Diabetes review at 2pm at the LifeSmart building.

May 23 Thursday
The Columbia County Area Alzheimer's Support Group will meet from 5-6pm in the new location of the Caring Place on 311W. Main, across from the First United Methodist Church in Magnolia. Individuals caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia are encouraged to attend. May 24 Friday
Relay for Life in Lafayette County will be on the Lafayette County Football Field in Stamps form 6pm-midnight. Come and enjoy games, prizes, food and fun for all ages. Help remeber those who are gone and celebrate those still fighting and surviving.

May 26 Sunday
Church Anniversary Service at 2:30pm at Mercy and Grace Missionary Baptist Church. The guest speaker will be Reverend Tony Smith and the guest church will be St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

May 27 Monday
American Legion Memorial Day Hamburger Cookout will be at the American Legion Post 003 from 11am-2pm. Hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings will be served. It is free to the public, everyone is invited.

Memorial Day Ceremony will begin with a wreath dedication on the courthouse lawn at 8:30am that morning then 9:30-10:30 the Official ceremony will be at the pavillion at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. For more information contact Deborah Ebarb at 696-3580.

Memorial Service at 9am at the Stewart Walkerville Cemetery. The guest speaker will be Darrell F. Clements, CHTORP U.S. Navy, Ret. Everyone is invited. Bring a lawn chair for this tribute under the live oaks.

May 28 Tuesday
Apostolic Pentecostal Church, located just past the Columbia County Fairgrounds at 251 Columbia 13, will host its monthly Gospel Jubilee Community Singing at 6:30 p.m. . The public is invited to attend.  If you have any questions, you may contact Herb Phillips at 299-1562.

June 1 Saturday
Quilt Show hosted by the Piney Needles Quilt Guild from 9am-4pm at the South Main Mall in Springhill, La. Admission is free. There will be several vendors present. For more information, call 318-423-5007.

June 1-5 Saturday thru Wednesday
South View Churhc of Christ Celebration of 14 years in the ministry in Magnolia. The gospel singing will be at 5pm on Saturday. On Sunday at 9am there will be Praise Worship and more singing and dinner, on Monday through Wednesday nights at 7om there will be gospel preaching.

June 3 Monday
Discussions with the Doctor, a free program for peole 60 and older will be in Salon B of the Donald W. Reynold's Campus and Community Center at SAU. The program will begin at 5:30pm with a light meal sponsored by Magnolia REspiratory Care, and the presentation will begin at 6pm. Deborah hanson, Ombudsman with the Area Agency on Aging will be the guest speaker. Reservations are required and must be made by May 30th by calling toll free 1-888-882-4464.

June 7 Friday
Smackover Oil Town Pageant will be at 7pm in the Smackover School Auditorium. Girls up to age 21 may enter. The pageant is sponsored in part by the Smackover High School FBLA. June 7-8 Friday and Saturday
Women of God/2013 South Arkansas Conference at the Mangolia Christian Center.. Dry Bones Live. Friday will be at 7pm, and Saturday at 10am and 2pm. Speakers will be Joanna Marshall and Elen Coon. For more information call 870-234-3225
