Columbia County Judge Larry Atkinson today issued a ban on outdoor burning in Columbia County. Lafayette County and Ouachita County are also under Burn Bans. The bans will be lifted when the dry conditions improve.

The newest class will be formally inducted during a ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
A portion of Columbia County Road 278 will be closed, starting Monday morning (July 23rd.) The road closure will extend from County Road 21 south past the state line (278 becomes 24 in Louisiana.) The County Road Department will be replacing a bridge at the state line. The work will begin Monday morning and last for about 2 weeks.
