8 New Inductees Announced for SAU Sports Hall of Fame

(from MuleriderAthletics.com) The Southern Arkansas University Department of Athletics has announced that it will add eight new individual members to its Sports Hall of Fame as the 16th class was elected by SAU’s Hall of Fame induction committee earlier this summer. The newest class will be formally inducted during a ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

Bridge Replacement on County Road 278

A portion of Columbia County Road 278 will be closed, starting Monday morning (July 23rd.) The road closure will extend from County Road 21 south past the state line (278 becomes 24 in Louisiana.) The County Road Department will be replacing a bridge at the state line. The work will begin Monday morning and last for about 2 weeks.

The Columbia County Master Gardeners held their annual 4-H Youth Garden Contest Awards, July 12th. Upon entry, participants planted, grew and harvested vegetable gardens according to the contest guidelines.
