Peoples Bank Promotes 7 Team Members to Vice Presidents

MAGNOLIA, AR – August 10, 2018 – Shelda Shackelford, Angela Risher, Alisa Ward, Dottye Burleson, Kristen Reeves, Dina Hayes and Bobby Heinze and have been promoted to Vice Presidents at Peoples Bank, according to Mary Fowler, CEO.  “These seven individuals represent a cumulative 122 years of banking experience.  Each has played an important role in the success of our bank.  They have proven themselves as leaders in our organization and leaders in our community.  I’m proud of each one of them and offer heartfelt congratulations on behalf of our Board of Directors.” stated Fowler.

Shelda Shackelford has been promoted to Vice President/Teller Operations.  Shackelford started her banking career in May 1990 and serves on the bank’s personnel committee.  In her 28 years with the bank she has served in a variety of roles including teller, new accounts, head teller and branch manager. She is a graduate of Nevada High School and attended Southern Arkansas University.

Shackelford supports her community by participating in Relay For Life, Magnolia Blossom Festival, SAU Mulegating, Leadership Magnolia, Leadership Magnolia Alumni, South Arkansas Women’s Network and is Treasurer for the Magnolia High School Trap team.  She is a member of Antioch West Baptist Church where she serves on the Youth Committee and is a Junior Youth teacher.  A native of Waldo, Shelda is married to Bill Shackelford.  They are the parents of two daughters Karissa and Danyel.  In her spare time she enjoys attending church, spending time with her family and cheering for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Angela Risher has been promoted to Vice President/Lending/Golden Oaks Branch Manager.  Risher will be celebrating her 20th anniversary with the bank this year.  She was the Peoples Bank Banker of the Year for 2007.

Risher is a native of Warren, AR, and attended Southern Arkansas University. Involved in her community, she is very active in Relay For Life, Magnolia Blossom and Festival.  She was a member of the Leadership Magnolia Class of 2016 and is a current member of the Leadership Magnolia Alumni Association.

In her spare time Angela enjoys vacationing on the beach with her family, antiquing and attending flea markets.  Angela is married to Johnnie Risher and the couple has one daughter, Ashley Word.  The Rishers are members of First Baptist Church of Waldo.

Alisa Ward has been promoted to Vice President/Operations.  Ward’s 19 years of banking experience includes working as a teller, branch capture, accounts payable, ACH coordinator and overdraft program administrator.  She was the Peoples Bank Banker of the Year for 2009.

Ward is from Magnolia, a graduate of Magnolia High School and attended Southern Arkansas University.  Ward gives back to our community by volunteering with Relay For Life, Magnolia Blossom Festival and SAU Mulegate.

She is married to Stacey Ward of Shongaloo, LA, and the couple has two children, Addison and Anna, and one grandchild.  Alisa enjoys spending time with family, travel, fishing, hunting and riding horses.  Her family attends Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Shongaloo.

Dottye Burleson has been promoted to Vice President / Operations.  Burleson has 21 years of banking experience and has been with Peoples Bank for 16 years.   Burleson is a native of Magnolia, a graduate of Magnolia High School and attended Southern Arkansas University.  Active in her community, she has volunteered for Relay For Life and the Magnolia Blossom Festival where she served as Treasurer.  She and her husband Butch are members of Central Baptist Church in Magnolia.  Dottye has one son, Jeremy, and two grandchildren.

Kristen Reeves has been promoted to Vice President/Lending/Lakewood Branch Manager.  Reeves has 15 years of banking experience as a teller, new accounts representative, loan assistant, loan officer and assistant branch manager.

Reeves was the recipient of the Leadership Magnolia Alumni of the Year Award for 2018.  She is actively involved in our community serving on the Leadership Magnolia board and past Chairman of Today’s Youth Tomorrow’s Leaders.  She also participates in Relay For Life and the Magnolia Blossom Festival.

Reeves is a native of Magnolia and a graduate of Magnolia High School.  She is an alum of Southern Arkansas University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.    Kristen is married to David Reeves, also of Magnolia, and the couple has one son Trevor.  The Reeves family attends New Life Community Church.

Dina Hayes has been promoted to Vice President/Lending.  Hayes is a 12-year veteran with Peoples Bank.  A native of Nevada County, Dina attended Southern Arkansas University after graduating from Prescott High School.  She has earned three degrees from SAU; a Bachelor’s in Agriculture Business, a Master’s in Agriculture Science and an M.B.A.

Hayes is very involved in our community and has held various leadership roles in many organizations including the SAU Alumni Board, Albemarle CAP Board, Columbia County Fair & Livestock Association Treasurer and Secretary, Relay For Life, Magnolia Junior Charity League former treasurer and Leadership Magnolia.

Dina is married to Rusty Hayes of Magnolia.  The couple has three children, Justin, Amber and Kelsey and one grandchild.  They attend First Baptist Church of Magnolia.    Dina’s favorite activity is spending time with her family at rodeos and livestock shows.

Bobby Heinze has been promoted to Vice President/ Information Security/Security Officer.  Heinze joined the Peoples Bank team in June 2011.  A native of Taylor, Bobby graduated from Taylor High School, attended Central Baptist College and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University.  Before starting his banking career Heinze served in the Army National Guard and was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004.

Heinze is a caring member of our community and an active participant in the Magnolia Blossom Festival, Relay For Life and Leadership Magnolia.  He and his wife Mary have two children, Landon and Ruth.  The family belongs to Wyatt Baptist Church in El Dorado where Bobby is a Sunday school teacher.  During his spare time his favorite activities are playing golf and spending time with family.
