The SAU Muleriders came up one game short of a Central Region championship. SAU was the host of the NCAA Division II Central Region Baseball Tournament. The Muleriders lost their first game of the tournament Thursday, which put them into the losers’ bracket of the double-elimination tournament. But SAU ran off 5 wins in a row, including a 5-3 win in the first championship game Monday. But that was only the first loss of the tournament for Augustana and SAU needed to beat them again. Augustana was able to come back with a 6-3 win in the second game to secure the Central Region berth in the national tournament. The Muleriders end the season with a record of 41 and 19. The Vikings are 48 and 9.
