For the second day in a row, the Magnolia High School baseball team has had to cancel a game. They were scheduled to play today at Smackover, but the game has been cancelled.
The Magnolia basketball Panthers begin play Thursday in the 5A State Tournament in Maumelle. The Panthers tip off at 5:30 Thursday against the Morrilton Devil Dogs. You can hear the game live on Magnolia’s Country 99.1.
Mount Ida defeated Emerson 56-42 Monday in the first round of the 1A Girls State Basketball Tournament at Morrilton. That brings the Lady Pirates’ season to an end.
The SAU baseball team beat East Central 10-1 Monday in Melissa, Texas. That completes a 3-game sweep in the Great American Conference series. The Muleriders have a non-conference game against Mississippi College at 5 o’clock today in Magnolia.
The SAU softball team swept a doubleheader Monday against East Central in Bonham, Texas; the scores were 13-5 and 7-4. The Lady Muleriders won the conference series 3 games to one. They play at home Friday and Saturday against Oklahoma Baptist.
