Signing Day Update – SAU

The SAU football program announced the signing of 33 players Wednesday on National Signing Day. Coach Bill Keopple said, “We were looking to improve upon what we already have on campus at every position, even though we have a very talented team returning.” He added, “It’s important to me that we recruit young men from our Region that have a desire to work on getting a college degree and be the best student athlete they can be.” Keopple’s 2018 signing class features 19 offensive players, 13 defensive players and one special teams player. Of the 19 offensive players, 11 are offensive linemen. 6 of the 13 are linemen on the defensive side. The class includes 8 from Arkansas, 15 from Texas, 9 from Louisiana and one from Oklahoma. One of those Arkansans is Adam Watson from Magnolia High School; Adam has been the Panthers’ starting center the past 2 seasons. Other area signees include Cullen “Deno” Rogers and Tarrion Thompson from Camden Fairview High School, Tyrek Rucks from El Dorado High School, and Mahleik Darty from Liberty-Eylau High School in Texarkana, Texas.
