Brandy Browning a Finalist for Ark. Teacher of the Year

Brandy Browning been selected as one of 14 regional finalists for the 2018 Arkansas Teacher of the Year. Brandy is a science teacher at Magnolia Junior High School; she was voted the 2017 Magnolia School District Teacher of the Year. On August 30th, a special recognition event with Governor Asa Hutchinson will be held in the Old Supreme Court Room at the Capitol. A reception for the 14 regional finalists will be held afterward, where the four state semifinalists will be announced. A panel of judges, selected by the Arkansas Department of Education, will recommend one candidate to become the Arkansas Teacher of the Year, based on interviews with the candidate, the principal and/or superintendent, and observation of the teacher’s classroom. The panel will then submit their recommendation to the commissioner of education for approval.
