The winning streak is up to 16 games for the SAU baseball team. Tuesday night, it took extra innings at Goodheart Field, but the 11th-ranked Muleriders edged the 15th-ranked Delta State Statesmen 3-2 in 11 innings. The winning run scored on a walk-off bases-loaded walk to Cortland McPherson in the bottom of the 11th inning. Makenzy Larsen pitched the final 3 and 2/3 innings for SAU to pick up his 3rd win. Blake Hall homered in SAU’s first at-bat. The Muleriders improved to 24 and 5 for the season. Delta State fell to 22 and 8. The SAU baseball team returns to conference play Friday and Saturday at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.
