The SAU baseball team opened their conference schedule with a three-game sweep at Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Muleriders won 5-1 in their first game Friday. Then they swept a doubleheader Saturday, 7 – 2 and 8 – 4.  The Muleriders are now 6 and 3 for the season. They have a non-conference game at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Delta

The Magnolia High School basketball teams closed out the regular season at home Friday night against El Dorado. In the girls’ game, Magnolia had a 22 to 21 lead at the half. Magnolia Police report that an arrest has been made for Tuesday’s robbery of the Peoples Bank Lakewood Branch. The arrest was made at approximately 12 noon today (Friday). 27-year-old Marshun Stevvon J Scott was arrested in Little Rock on a warrant for Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property over $5,000. The SAU basketball teams have a short road trip tonight to Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. The ladies tip off at 5:30 and the men follow at about 7:30. 1st Arrest:  On February 9, 2017 officers with the Magnolia Police Department and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1200 block of Carver Street.
